The International Institute for Sustainability (IIS) was founded to create a dedicated space where education, research, and action converge to address the most pressing challenges of our time. Its roots trace back to the Society for Universal Oneness, a non-profit organization established in 2002 with the goal of applying science and technology for the betterment of humanity and the protection of the environment. This mission grew into a broader vision of fostering sustainable development and uniting communities through education and collaboration.

In 2024, the Society formalized this vision by establishing IIS as a specialized entity focused on sustainability. Alongside IIS, the Society also launched 1world1nation.org, an open platform dedicated to connecting people globally through projects in science, technology, and education. These initiatives reflect the Society’s commitment to driving impactful change and fostering a shared responsibility for the planet’s future.

IIS is at the forefront of sustainability education, offering hands-on programs, innovative research, and practical solutions for building sustainable communities. By partnering with organizations worldwide and recognizing groundbreaking contributions through its awards, IIS cultivates an environment where knowledge and action combine to address real-world problems. Looking ahead, IIS is set to launch a range of educational programs, including doctorate and master’s degrees, as well as certificate courses in sustainability and related fields. With accreditation on the horizon, IIS continues to advance its mission of inspiring and educating leaders to create a sustainable future.
