An internationally recognized Climate Change and Sustainability Specialist with nearly two decades of experience in environmental resilience, carbon management, and ecosystem impact analysis. As the Director of the International Institute for Sustainability (IIS), he spearheads transformative initiatives in decarbonization strategies, greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation, and climate adaptation, ensuring that IIS remains at the forefront of sustainability education and innovation. Dr. Kaluvagunta’s expertise extends across a broad spectrum of environmental disciplines, including risk assessment, carbon sequestration, nature-based solutions, and ESG compliance. His leadership in climate resilience and sustainability policy aligns with globally recognized frameworks such as SBTi, GRI, CDP, and the GHG Protocol, enabling institutions and industries to transition toward a carbon-neutral future.

After a successful career in digital infrastructure, Dr. Rao transitioned to full-time environmental advocacy, founding Climate Healers, a non-profit dedicated to climate solutions. An Open Group and IBM Executive Certified Architect and has gained experience in the Travel & Transport, Retail & Consumer Goods and Government sectors over the past 30 years. For the past 4 years he has been the Technical Advisor for the Ministry of Defence. The problems are diverse, but always come down to translating business issues into a workable solution of applications with underlying infrastructure. His starting point is always that the solution must be stable, workable, modular and maintainable in order to be able to deal with changes in the future.
